– peacefully at Hospice Quinte on Monday, September 12, 2022, with his family at his side, in his 87th year. Son of the late Everard and Phyllis Pond. Beloved husband of Edith Pond (nee Stone). Loving father of Terry (Sarah) Pond of Belleville and Neil (Lori) Pond of Hartington and the late Kevin Pond. Proud grandfather of Jackson, Cole, Mackenzie and Austin. Wendell is survived by his brothers, Fred (Pat), Robert (Anne), Dean (Joyce), Clifton (Betty Lou), Lloyd (Alice), Donald (Kay) and Ronald (Debbie) Pond and by his sister, Emily Hunter. He is also survived by his sisters in-law, Shirley, Roxanne, Grace, Marie, and Diane (Roger). He is predeceased by his brothers, Ernest, Murray, Ivan, Everard Jr. and his sister, Shirlee Logan. Wendell loved his wife, children and especially his grandchildren. He was a witty man who always enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. He enjoyed working inside and outside the home between woodworking and gardening and was a big fan of his wife’s baked goods.
